Pretty Little Ladies

Grumpy Little Ladies

It is inevitable that Mom must take her camera out everywhere we go.  We mean really people, does it ever end?  So sometimes we're just not in the mood for having our mug shots taken.  Here are a few of those times:

And yes, folks, our cute Gap t-shirts do say "wild thing" on them.  We love it!  We will probably wear these to the zoo the first time we go (how perfect!).  We also feel this sentiment captures how we can be on most days--just two wild and crazy little ladies!

Denver Botanic Gardens

Mom and some of our twin friends met at the Denver Botanic Gardens for a morning walk, lunch, and to enjoy the beautiful weather and flowers.  It is so fun for us to get to know other twins and for Mommy to have some interaction with other twin moms!

Beautiful flowers were everywhere!
These are our friends Trey and Ryder.  They were in the NICU at the same time as us at the same hospital!
More pretty flowers!  One of our favorite colors: pink!
Two cool fountains that we just loved to look at!
Mom took us out of our stroller and we loved the sound of falling water.

For part of the morning we just slept and enjoyed the warm, sunny day.  Of course we have stylish hats to protect us from the sun!
Felicity: Mom had to get me a new hat as I've already outgrown the last one!  I really like the new one and its wide brim.  Mom almost fell over after what she had to pay for it at this cute baby boutique called Janie & Jack, but of course, I'm worth it!  And also, being fashionable is worth it too!
Here we are together--we take up the whole sidewalk when we go anywhere!
We know you can't quite see us, but if you could, you'd see that we were mesmerized by the Japanese garden (or maybe we were just sleeping, but if you think we were mesmerized by the beauty of the nature all around us, you'll probably think we are so cultured and smart, so we'll stick with letting you think we were captivated by the gardens not just asleep!).
Here are our twin friends in their big strollers too!  Ryder, Trey, Allison, and Nissa were all along for the fun.  Lots of people would stop us as we were quite the spectacle of three twin moms and twins.  Some people would first ask if we were quads or sextuplets!  Ha!  Good thing there are just two of us!  We already keep Mom plenty busy!

Our friends in Utah

While we were in Utah, we got to meet lots of new people and hang out with some old friends.
This is Elyse with Kelli--she is a friend of Ashley's from Utah and Mom and Dad were very happy to see her again!
Mom and Dad got to have a night on the town and Ashley's parents babysat us.  Here's the gang out for dinner:
Thaddeus, Natalie (Ashley's sister), and Ashley
As you can see, Mom and Dad were very excited to have a night on the town!

Our first long car ride

Over Memorial Day weekend the family took a nice long trip to Ogden/Salt Lake City, Utah to visit our friends Thaddeus and Ashley.

Here is what we did during the 8 1/2 hour car ride there and back:
Sleep!
And more sleep!

Here are some of the things we saw along the way:
Beautiful waterfall in a canyon near Ogden

Here's Mom by the reservoir near where Thaddeus and Ashley live.
This is a pic of the mountains we saw when we weren't sleeping in the car.

Rub a dub dub, two twins in a tub!

The last bath pics we took were at the NICU, so here's an update of how big we're getting.  We've upgraded tubs, enjoy taking baths, and even have bath toys to play with now!

Elyse: Mom only got this unflattering picture of me because her camera battery died unexpectedly on her.  But really, it's okay because I'm not that interested these "I'm wet and in a bath-tub" pics that Mom seems to think are cute!

Felicity: Mom!!!  Can you just get me out of this silly towel and put a cute outfit on?  I mean really, don't we have enough pictures?

Smile for the camera

Good Morning!

Some mornings we are wide awake, but not really interested in getting up, so Mom lets us play on her bed.  We get pretty bored hanging out in the living room, so seeing all of the sights on Mom and Dad's bedroom walls is pretty interesting.  Here we are in some really cute pajamas that our friends Marianne and Ryan gave us.

Check out how we're growing!!  Felicity is a bit bigger than Elyse.

We just love being by each other...
Elyse: Except when Felicity just needs her space...come on girlie, pull yourself together!

A Mother's Day Adventure

For Mother's Day, Mom and Dad decided to celebrate by taking their first Colorado mountain hike as a family.  We went to this cute little town called Morrison which is where the Red Rocks ampitheater is.  Dad carried Felicity and Mom carried Elyse.  It was a special time to celebrate the fact that Mom is no longer sick, on bed rest, and she is now fully mobile!  Yeah for exercise!
Mom kept saying throughout the hike:  "This is Nature.  Take it in."
And boy, did we take it in.
You can't see it very well here, but way off in the distance, behind the foothills are the snowy peaks of the Rockies.  It was quite the view!
Here we are on top of one hill.  Don't be fooled, there were more hills to climb. Just when we thought we'd hiked straight up for an hour, we had more upward hiking to do!  We did 3 miles total.  We know, we know, doesn't sound like that far.  But for our mom who was basically immobile for 8 1/2 months, it was far enough!
Felicity:  Here I am with Daddy.  Yes, I was sleeping peacefully.  Don't ask me why, but all of the bumpy walking was very therapeutic for a restful afternoon siesta.
Elyse:  Here I am with Mommy.  As you can see, I too had a nice afternoon nap.  Mom kept telling me to take in the nature and I did just that.  I took it all in as I snoozed my way up the mountain!
