A Princess Tea Party

The royal wedding has taken the world by storm and no, we were not up at 6 am to watch it. We did, however, enjoy a very fancy Princess Tea Party yesterday with our Mommy and wonderful babysitter, Anna (the tea party and details are all thanks to her!!). We had tea (really just special juice), cucumber sandwiches, finger donuts, cheese squares, and all of this on our Great-Grandma's antique "luncheon sets." We wore our fanciest dresses from when we were flower girls, used a fancy table-cloth and cloth napkins, and also dressed our babies up in fancy attire. Charity was fancy in her flower-headband and enjoyed watching us. Although she was not very quiet and demure in true tea party fashion.

Our baby dolls enjoyed sipping tea and were very well-behaved (better than Charity!). In this picture you can see them sitting next to us in their high-chairs:

One of our favorite things to do is being fancy and this fit the bill! Thanks to Anna for helping us have such a ROYAL event.

He is Risen Indeed!

We had such a wonderful Easter celebrating with Mommy and Daddy, our grandparents, cousin Peter, and our neighbor Sue. Here we are just before church. Our faces in these next few pictures capture our true essence these days--totally silliness!!!

We all had matching dresses and bows, but Mommy apologizes for our less than lady-like poses here. We, however, think our usual insanity is just fine.

Mommy laid low for most of the day, but was able to snag this pick. The sunglasses are for posterity sake (you probably don't want to see how crazy her eyes looked after her surgery!). We think this family photo op is particularly helpful to highlight what life is like in our little zoo: Mommy is trying to smile no matter what is going on with the rest of us (saying "just smile girls and stand still!" under her breath), Daddy is wondering how he ended up in a family of so many girls ("help me!" he's chanting in his brain), Charity is wiggling because she wants to try out her new-found crawling skills ("let me down!"), Elyse is being silly because any time we try to get pictures--she acts silly ("ha, ha, I will be the only one not looking at the camera!"), and Felicity is making sure everyone knows no matter how crazy Elyse is, she will stand by her through thick and thin (notice her arm around Elyse). Oh what fun we have!

And with Grandma and Grandpa, let total chaos reign supreme! Clearly Grandma and Grandpa are well-trained in the "smile no matter what the kids are doing" technique.

Charity: I had a very fun first Easter! But why can't I have any of that good food on the big table?

He made a great addition to the Easter table.With all of the family fun and good food, we were sure to remember the main reason we celebrate Easter: Jesus!

Easter Party Eggstravaganza!

Even though Mommy just had surgery, we couldn't have Easter without a few big celebrations! Mommy got most of the stuff ready and organized before her surgery and our awesome Grandma and Grandpa helped implement the plans. We had a brunch, egg and basket hunt, and just plain fun celebrating Easter.

Here's the table before the yummy caramel rolls and egg casserole came out:We thought it necessary to sport our sunglasses so Mommy didn't feel left out. She was able to participate in most of our fun festivities!

With her huge sunglasses on, you can barely even tell Mommy just had surgery. I think we look like movie stars!

Mommy colored hard-boiled eggs for us before her surgery (and we helped a little), but here we got to pick which ones we would use for the party table:

We love eating eggs for breakfast and lots of snacks. Yum, yum!

Our table was full of delicious treats after the caramel rolls and egg bake came out of the oven. We even had beautiful candy-mold suckers with colored white chocolate that we made with our awesome babysitter.

What do I do if I fill up my bucket? Do we have an overflow plan?

Our friends who came to our party brought our good friend Elvis. He helped us locate all of the candy-filled eggs with his stealth-like senses.

Our good friends came to celebrate with us and we had a great time. Baby G had his first Easter party and basket.

Charity: You can't quite see it, but my shirt says "Baby's First Easter." I'm happy to wear cute shirts like this, but the bunny hat, that's a bit much.

Grandpa helped me explore my basket full of baby-Easter loot. No candy for me, but plenty of toys!

Mommy is Doing Well

Mommy had surgery yesterday (2 out of 3 surgeries for her headaches). She is doing well and recovering like a champ! We just wanted to let all of you know she's a-okay.

We wanted her to post a picture of her owies, but thought you might all say "ACK!" so we decided not to!

Our First Haircut

Today we had our first haircut. It was a big adventure and we were a little nervous, but did so great once we got there! Most kids have already had haircuts by our age, but we just didn't have much hair for so long...if you look back at age 2, we were still pretty bald! Mommy always put our hair up in pigtails or a ponytail, but we pretty much never had our hair down because it looked too straggly. Because Mommy's surgery is coming up soon, we needed to be able to just wear our hair down sometimes.

We had to get it done a little shorter than Mommy wanted, but it looks pretty cute. We had such different lengths of fine hair that it was best to just get a fresh little bob.

Well folks, here's the new me. What do you think? I was a little unsure at this point, but now I'm really starting to love it. I like to occasionally shake my head around because I feel so fresh and free with this new cut!

The ladies all thought we were so cute and lovely! Mommy put adorable bows in our hair after the cut, but we didn't get a pic of that yet.

We recently got our 3-year portraits taken and Charity had her 6-month pics taken as well. Mommy purchased a ridiculous amount of pictures because they turned out so well, but here are a few she got as digital files, but did not get printed. We hope you enjoy them!

We won't bore you with all of the ones she bought...but there were a lot of good ones! Thanks to the help of our amazing babysitter Anna (who helped Mommy wrangle us!), the photo shoot was a huge success!!
