Minnesota Mania: Day 1

On our first official day of our big MN trip, we had a fabulous par-tay to see friends and family (and to celebrate Mommy's birthday). It was so much fun to play with cousins, hang out with extended family, see friends we haven't seen forever, and basically just have a marvelous social event! A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello, it made our trip extra, extra special!4 Generations of Smart Women:
Mommy had a great time seeing family too! Here is the clan:
Including us, there are 7 crazy ladies in the family. We are particularly fond of all of these ladies and just l-o-v-e the way they shower us with love and playtime.
We all had matching shirts with our names on them, making us one stylish big family!
We tried to get a picture of all of us, but clearly, Emma has just about had enough of all of our antics. What's the oldest girl to do? She's very sweet to put up with our silliness!
It could be better, but it's hard work getting 7 girlies to sit pretty for a picture!
We just had so much fun enjoying family and friends and what better way to start the trip than with a big party!

One BIG Trip!

Hello friends!! We have just returned from a fabulous trip to Minnesota and can't wait to tell you all about it! We have pictures, pictures, and more pictures to share, but don't want to overwhelm you all at once. We are going to post one (or maybe two) posts a day to show you how much fun we had.

And just to give you an idea, our Mommy took over 500 pictures...but we made her promise to only show you the most important/fabulous ones. (You can thank us now).

Hope you are all having a marvelous end-of-summer day!

Felicity: Oh, Elyse, isn't it hard to believe that just 18 short months ago we were this little? How quickly time flies!Elyse: What's really hard to believe is in that same amount of time we've used approximately 6200 diapers (give or take about 200). I know it's not pretty, but really, do you know what kind of wardrobe we could get in place of 6200 diapers??? Let me just tell you--it would be a BIG one! I guess it's never too early to be reminded that we owe our parents big time! Good thing we're cute (as evidenced below):

18 Month Check-Up

We are growing more silly and mischievous with each passing day. And now, we are proud to announce that we are officially 1 1/2! Here is the proof that we are growing like weeds:

Elyse: 22 lbs. 3 oz (10-20th percentile)
32 inches (70th percentile!)

Felicity: 22 lbs 9 oz (10-20th percentile)
32 inches (70th percentile!)

As you can see, the doctor says we're pretty tall in comparison to our weight!
Cheers to our silliness! May it continue to flourish!

Summer Fun

At the end of the week with our G-ma and G-pa, our Aunt Lindsay came to visit us too! What fun we had enjoying the dog days of summer!

Elyse: Welcome to our pad in DC Aunt Lindsay!Just the girls:
We also had a barbecue with the family and friends over the weekend. It was a great time. Look how big we are eating at our own table!
What pretty, stylish nails you have!
And because it's been about a million degrees outside, we also went swimming with our friends. Such fun! Water is the best way to beat the heat (or keeping our air conditioning like the Frozen Tundra like our Mommy likes to do!).

Exploring Williamsburg

Exploring Williamsburg with Grandma was fun, even though it was very HOT!!! We went to a a neat playground called Kidsburg and it is like a mini Jamestown settlement for kids. Who knew they had life-size flying ladybugs and bees in Jamestown 400 years ago?Weeeee!! Going down the slide with our daredevil Grandma:
What trip to a hotel would be complete without hiding in the nightstand?
We really loved pretending to be colonial in our new hats!
And of course we couldn't resist the excitement and fun of swimming in the BIG pool at the hotel! We had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa!

Wandering Around Williamsburg

We're BAAACK!!! We've been sadly absent from the blogosphere for the last 2 weeks because we've been busy! Grandpa and Grandma came to visit (and Grandpa had to do a little work) and we took a trip to Williamsburg, VA. We had a spectacular time! Here we are before the road trip eating yummy cinnamon rolls and laughing at our awesome G-pa:Did you know these luggage carts were fun to ride on? We had a blast strolling around the hotel!
We spent our first day at Colonial Williamsburg. If you haven't been there, you definitely should go! Here's Mommy in front of the Courthouse:
Felicity: Check out my official mob cap! We each got one to wear and it helped us to feel like official eighteenth-century ladies:
Hmmm...I don't know Gramps. I think the hat looks cuter on me!
It was definitely a scorcher outside, but we were able to enjoy all of the sites snug inside of our sweet ride. Isn't the Governor's Palace beautiful?
Elyse: Why, good day ladies! Aren't you warm??? Those dresses seem like a lot to wear on such a hot day! But I must say I do love your hats! Particularly fashionable if I do say so myself.
Felicity: I think I would have been an excellent town-crier. Here I am practicing: "The Red Coats are coming! The Red Coats are coming! The Red Coats are coming!"
No time for pictures, Grandma! I have a job to do.
"The Red Coats are coming! The Red Coats are coming! The Red Coats are COMING!" Is there anyone out there? Apparently the people of Williamsburg aren't that concerned about the Red Coats these days. Humph.

More pics of our trip to come!
