Grandma is FINALLY here!

We are so excited to announce that our Grandma Beck is finally here!  We have been waiting and waiting for some of our family to get here and now we have the pleasure of having our grandma here for a whole 10 days!!  She is already spoiling us by bringing us some great books to read and a few cute outfits.  Mom says that there will be more pictures to come of our adventures with Grandma.

Playtime

Here we are playing on our fun tummy-time mat.  We are learning to switch our heads from side to side when we're on our tummies.  When we are on our backs we have lots of fun toys to look at that keep us busy.

Sisters

Sisters,
Sisters,
There were never such devoted sisters...
Caring,
Sharing,
Every little thing that we are wearing...
All kinds of weather we stick together
The same in the rain or sun.
Two diff'rent faces,  but in tight places,
We think and we act as one.

Those who've seen us,
Know that not a thing could come between us...

(a shout out to Irving Berlin and the greatest Christmas movie of all time)

No pictures, please

Goodbye NICU, Hello Home!

Here's Mom with her extremely stylish Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag.  Now she can tote around our things with grace and pizazz.  (Thank you Aunt Lindsay for this brilliant gift. We are sure to be the most happenin' chicks on the block--very tres chic!).

Here's Dad with all of our stuff before saying goodbye to the NICU.

The teeny-tiny heads you see peaking out of the car seats are us ready for our first car ride.

Finally home, in our bouncy seats.  What a day!  We are worn out from all of the excitement.
Lastly, we'd like to send a BIG hug to the NICU staff for all of their love, care, and support over the last three weeks.  Thanks for taking such good care of us!

We're on our way!

Check out the adorable "going home" outfits our mom picked out.  Don't we look cute?

Here we are taking one last snooze in the NICU.

Going Home

Today is the day!  We are so excited for our first car ride and trip home.  Finally we get to spend our days with Mom and Dad.  Pictures to come.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a wonderful Valentine's Day we had! Mom brought us these adorable outfits from home and we also found out that we are going home on Friday. What exciting news! We had a few more tests and things to take care of, but overall it was a marvelous day.  You will also notice that our feeding tubes are out (they were out on Wednesday) all in preparation to go home.

Thank you Mike and Sue Happ for the adorable outfits.  Everyone at the NICU just loved them!

Above our heads you can see the beautiful Valentine's cards that one of the amazing NICU nurses handmade for us (thank you Lisa, you're the greatest!).  Inside we printed our footprints and it was so cute!  Mom and Dad just loved them!

What a day!

Yesterday we had a very momentous development: we were moved out of our isolettes (Dad calls them our caves) and we are both in an open air crib. We are so excited to be reunited at last! And because we are in the open air temperature, we also get to wear outfits instead of just onesies. Here you can see us in our first outfits and hanging out together in the crib. Yeah!!

Cuddling with Mom

Staying Clean Part Deux

We had our second bath last night and it wasn't so bad. In these pictures you can see how tiny we are in the tub. The NICU has special tubs just for us!

Time to Eat!

We are excited to tell you that we are both taking two bottles a day!  We aren't strong enough to do more than that yet, but each day we get a little stronger and will be able to take more bottles soon.  One of the criteria to go home is to take all of our feedings by bottle, so this is a BIG step for us!  Daddy keeps saying that we are taking our bottles "like a champ."  (We think this is a good thing...but not quite sure yet what it means to be a champ!).

(Cute pictures of bottle feedings yet to come!)

We're growing!

Slowly, but surely we are gaining weight.  After losing weight for the first week of our lives (we hear that's normal for babies), we are now getting bigger every day!  Our current weights are:

Elyse-- 3 lbs 9.0 oz
Felicity--3 lbs. 15.6 oz

(weights updated 2/7)

Who do you think we look like?

Here are pictures of Mom and Dad when they were babies. We know we're so little still, but do you think we look more like our Mom or Dad?
